The Metzger Construction team has been in business since 1978. The original company name was IBS Contractors Inc. and was founded in 1972 by Gerald Hines. Jim Metzger was named President of IBS in 1978 when he and his family moved to Houston. In 1986 Jim purchased the company with a partner and renamed it Metzger Construction. Already doing out of town projects, Jim continued working in many other states but kept the focus on the Greater Houston area. Metzger Construction Company has weathered the challenges of the ups and downs of the Houston business cycle while maintaining the highest standards of customer satisfaction, safety, and competitive pricing.
